The 25-Mark General Science Advantage
In RRB Group D, General Science is an independent 25-question section based strictly on CBSE Class 9 and 10 syllabus. Unlike SSC, RRB asks conceptual numerical problems in Physics (Ohm's Law, Lens formula, Kinetic energy, Power) and chemical equations.
Memorizing one-liners is not enough for Group D Science; solve actual numericals from Class 9 and 10 NCERT textbooks.
High-Frequency Science Numerical Topics
Focus on these specific formula categories:
- Electricity: Resistance in series/parallel, Heat generated (H = I²Rt), Electric Power (P = VI = V²/R).
- Optics: Mirror formula (1/f = 1/v + 1/u) and sign conventions, Refractive Index.
- Work, Power & Energy: Potential energy (mgh) and Kinetic energy (1/2 mv²).
- Chemistry: Balancing redox reactions, pH scale calculations, and Periodic Table trends.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Readiness
Male candidates must lift and carry 35 kg of weight for 100 meters in 2 minutes without putting it down, followed by a 1000m run in 4 minutes 15 seconds. Female candidates carry 20 kg for 100 meters and run 1000m in 5 minutes 40 seconds.
