Exam Pattern & 80-Question Structure
The SSC GD Computer Based Examination consists of 80 objective questions carrying 160 marks (2 marks per question) to be solved in 60 minutes. Negative marking is 0.25 marks per wrong question.
The four sections are: General Intelligence & Reasoning (20 Q), General Knowledge (20 Q), Elementary Mathematics (20 Q), and English/Hindi (20 Q).
With 80 questions in 60 minutes, quick elimination and mental math are paramount.
Elementary Mathematics High-Scoring Topics
Unlike CGL, SSC GD does not include heavy advanced algebra or trigonometry. It focuses strictly on core arithmetic: Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Work, and basic 2D Mensuration.

Language Selection: Hindi vs. English
Candidates have the choice between Hindi and English for Section D. If you studied in a Hindi-medium school, opting for General Hindi usually yields faster score gains (often 36-38 out of 40) through standard muhavare, vilom shabd, and sandhi vichhed rules.
